- Step 1 – Remove the label from the glass bottle because the glue on the label will gum up the scoring tool. Fill a sink or pan with Blue Dawn soapy water enough to cover the bottle(s). Fill the bottle(s) with water so it will stay submerged in the water. Let stand for a few of hours before attempting to remove the label. Each label has different glue so this is somewhat trial and error. For faster label removal try products like Goo Gone.
- Step 2 – Glass Bottle Scoring is determined by the size and bottle shape. Watching the bottle scoring video is a must to get this process right. The plans to make this machine are on the Glass Bottle Scoring page: https://whatsnewjohnny.com/how-to-cut-finish-bottles/
- Step 3 – Cut Bottle Sanding. This process removes the sharp edge that is left behind from the Glass Bottle Scoring process. Download plans to build ‘Leroy’ the sanding machine and watch the video.
- Step 4 – Glass Bottle Sand Blasting. Once the design is created and applied to the bottle – We use a Silhouette Cameo machine to output the design – it’s time to embed the design onto the bottle with ‘Bill’ the Cut Bottle Sand Blaster.
